Company Description The Municipal Finance Authority of British Columbia (MFA) is a world-class co-operative financial institution, governed by its Members for the benefit of public institutions throughout BC. Our mission is to finance municipal infrastructure and provide other low-cost and reliable financial solutions.
The MFA’s products and services enable the equitable and affordable delivery of community-scale sustainable water, wastewater, and other essential services across BC by supporting public investments in critical infrastructure. We offer three main services: reliable and low-cost borrowing solutions, purpose-built, best-in-class investment funds, and financial support for professional development for local government leaders. MFA achieves scale and enhances client staff capacity by pooling collective borrowing and investment needs, increasing the stability and resilience of the entire sector and helping local governments be more efficient, reduce risk, and save money.
Role Description As the Associate, Client Services, you’ll be part of a dynamic team, supporting daily activities and contributing to longer-term projects. Often the first point of contact for many of our clients, you will handle enquiries, process transactions across our investing and borrowing programs, and help make sure every client has a smooth, positive experience with the MFA.
The dollar values involved are large, so accuracy matters. You will bring a high level of care and due diligence to every transaction and report, and help us improve our processes, sharpening existing programs and products to better support our clients. Moreover, you’ll have the unique opportunity to collaborate with our Manager, Client Services in client relationship management and new product/service development, as well as providing backup support and ad-hoc project work as assigned. In the longer term, you may also be called upon to represent the MFA through public presentations, and networking with clients, Board members and MFA third party service providers.
